Placing Duplicate Requests

Patrons are not permitted to submit more than one request for the same item.  If they attempt to do so, they will be alerted that this is a Duplicate Request and their request will not be placed.    

 

If a previous request has yet to be completed, or if there was an issue with a similar request, staff can override the Duplicate Request alert.  

 

To override a Duplicate Request:

 

  • Log in as staff
  • Go to item record and click Request.  Staff will be prompted to search for the desired patron. Search and select the patron from the list. 

Note: A patron must have logged to ComCat in at least once in order for them to appear in the patron selection list.

  • The request form will appear with the patron’s information
  • Click Submit to send the request.  
  • When prompted that this a Duplicate Request, select Staff Override to submit the request.
