Request is not in the Request Manager -- Lending Library

Pending requests only remain in a library's ComCat request manager for four business days. After this amount of time, the request will move onto the next potential library or going into an Unfilled/Retry status.  This change happens overnight during the software's midnight processing.

Sometimes, you may see a ComCat hold on an item in your local library system, but the request is no longer listed in your library's request manager in ComCat. If this happens, clear the hold that was placed on your item in your local system, or reach out to your network's office for assistance. There is no action to be taken in ComCat if a request for that item is not in your ComCat request manager. It has likely been cancelled or moved on to another lender. If you find you have many holds in your library system with no requests in the request manager, contact your network office for further assistance.

Request is not in the Request Manager -- Borrowing Library

Sometimes, a borrower will go to mark an item "returned" in ComCat and send it back to the lender, but the request will no longer be in their Request Manager.

The most common reason that this happens is that the lender accidentally marked the request "complete," and the request was deleted from ComCat.

Even though the request is no longer in ComCat, the borrower can go ahead and send the item back to the lender with a routing slip. The lender will need to check the item in manually upon receiving the item back.
