Awaiting Approval Status

There are a few reasons for a request to go into the "Awaiting Approval" Status. If a patron places a request as a Guest (not allowed by policy) or enters a note in the patron note field, their request will go into "Awaiting Approval." Staff will need to review the request, copy any patron notes into the "borrower notes" field, and then change the status to "Approve-send" and submit the request.

Patron Notes:

If a patron enters notes when submitting a request, the request is sent to the "Awaiting Approval" status at the Borrowing Library. The request must then be approved before it is sent to the lender list.

An example of a patron note might be “Hardcover edition preferred.”

In order to protect patron privacy, patron’s Notes are not visible to the lending library.  Patron’s Notes must be copied into the Borrower’s Notes field in order to be seen by the lending library.  Before approving the request, be sure to copy all relevant patron’s Notes into the Borrower’s Notes field.  If the patron’s Notes are NOT copied into the Borrower’s Notes, the lender will never receive this information.
