For Patron Lookup searches, the SHAREit and ILS Lookup tabs have been combined so staff will now see a single SHAREit Lookup tab. To improve patron data security, staff will no longer need to enter a patron’s pin when validating a user with the ILS.
- To look for a patron, enter the patron’s barcode. This will create a new ComCat account for patron, if they don’t already have one.
- If the patron has logged into ComCat before, you will be able to find the account using their name OR barcode and additional criteria in the dropdown menu (city, address, phone, etc.)
Once you find the correct patron, their information will automatically fill the request form and the request will show up on their account when submitted.
*Previously, this screen showed two tabs: SHAREit Lookup (searches all ComCat patrons) and ILS Lookup (your library system only). In the 1/25/23 upgrade, these were combined into one tab. Additional changes were made to the appearance of the tab in early February 2023.
